Scale of a Geopark Planning Map

The scale of a geopark map is dependent on the size of the geopark. Geoparks can be divided into: 1. small geoparks: area up to 20 km² and a map scale of 1:5,000 or 1:10,000; 2. medium geoparks: area of 20–100 km², map scale of 1:10,000 or 1:25,000; 3. large geoparks: area of 100–500 km², map scale of 1:25,000 or 1:50,000; and 4. extra-large geoparks: area >500 km², map scale of 1:50,000 or 1:100,000. The map should have a column at the bottom right corner indicating the name of the project, the map, the name of the contractor, the date and, if necessary, the names of the mapping project manager (with signature) and his team.
