This geopark is located in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, and covers an area of 225 km2. It became a national geopark in 2009. Its main geological features include a karst landscape and palaeontological fossils. Abundant fossils can be found in the Wuliu-Zengjiaya section behind Balang Village in Gedong, which serves as a potential global stratotype section and point for the boundary between the second and third series of the Cambrian. The precious Kaili biota and Taijiang biota are two world-class palaeontological features. Other attractive features of the geopark include arches, karst caves, peak clusters, peak forests, peak pillars, blade-shaped hills and mesas.
