Magmatic rocks are also known as igneous rocks, and they are formed by the cooling and consolidation of magma in the subsurface or at the surface. The types of magmatic rocks, such as intrusive rocks, subvolcanic rocks and volcanic rocks, are related to the environments in which they cool down and are affected by the magma’s chemical composition, temperature, pressure, and rate of cooling. China’s famous geoparks, such as the Huangshan, Sanqingshan, Yandangshan and Wudalianchi Geoparks, are all composed of magmatic rocks.
