Solide Tumoren bei Kindern und Jugendlichen: Prinzipien der onkologischen Therapie

Zusammenfassung

Solide Tumoren bei Kindern sind seltene Erkrankungen, deren Ursache meist unbekannt ist. Verschiedene Prädispositionssyndrome sind bekannt und sollten bei entsprechendem Nachweis Anlass geben, Familienmitglieder zu untersuchen. Die Therapie richtet sich nach Histologie, Stadium der Erkrankung, Lokalisation und manchmal auch nach molekulargenetischen Befunden. Grundsätzlich stehen operative Maßnahmen, Chemotherapie, Strahlentherapie und selten zielgerichtete Therapien zur Verfügung. Wenn immer möglich ist die Behandlung in prospektiven Therapiestudien in Kliniken mit Erfahrung in Diagnostik, Therapie und Nachsorge kindlicher Krebserkrankungen durchzuführen. Nur hierdurch wurden die heutigen hohen Heilungsraten erreicht und sind neue Erkenntnisse zur Optimierung der Prognose mit Verminderung von Spätfolgen zu erzielen. Eine psychosoziale Betreuung, Grundlagenforschung und auch eine internationale Vernetzung sind weitere Bausteine einer erfolgreichen Kinderonkologie.
