FormalPara BeschreibungDie basale Säuresekretion (BAO) dient, insbesondere im Pentagastrintest zusammen mit der maximalen Säuresekretion (MAO), der Diagnostik einer Hyper- (z. B. bei Zollinger-Ellison-Syndrom) oder einer Hyposekretion des Magens (z. B. bei chronisch atrophischer Gastritis). Gemessen wird die in den Magensaft sezernierte H+-Menge durch Titration mit NaOH.
