FormalPara BeschreibungDie abgeleitete kohärente SI-Einheit ist „Katal je Kubikmeter“ oder „Mol je Sekunde und je Kubikmeter“ (kat × m−3 = mol × s−1 × m−3). In der Laboratoriumsmedizin kann als Volumeneinheit die Einheit „Liter“ (L) gewählt werden.
In dieser Norm ist der „Bestandteil“ ein Enzym und das „Ausgangssystem“ kann z. B. das Plasma einer Blutprobe sein.
