Zusammenfassung
Der Kommunitarismus versteht sich in den USA als vermittelnde Schnittstelle zwischen Liberalismus und Konservatismus. Ausgehend von der Interpretation Amitai Etzionis wird der Fokus auf die Gemeinsamkeiten kommunitarischen Denkens zum Konservatismus gelegt. Dies gilt für Fragestellungen nach der Bedeutung der Kultur im Allgemeinen wie für Aspekte der Inneren Sicherheit im Besonderen. Darüber hinaus wird auf die Übertragbarkeit der kommunitarischen Positionen für Asien und Europa abgehoben, die aber in einer direkten Umsetzung so für Europa, z.B. auch für Deutschland, nicht möglich erscheint.
