General Information on Uganda
The Republic of Uganda is a landlocked country located in the Eastern part of Africa with a total surface area of 241.6 km2. It is centrally located bordering Kenya to the East, Tanzania and Rwanda to the South, the Democratic Republic of Congo to the West, and South Sudan to the North. Uganda is a Member State of the East African Community (EAC), a regional intergovernmental organization whose main objective is to ensure economic and political integration of all Member States including Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan, and Tanzania to foster unified development of the region.
Uganda has a population of 41.49 million with an annual growth rate of 3.9%, one of the highest in the World (World Bank 2018).
