Abstract
Since the emergence of nuclear energy, discussions on its benefits and harm to humanity have not stopped. On the one hand, the use of nuclear power plants solves the problem of the greenhouse effect that has occurred in recent centuries due to the intense combustion of carbon fuels (peat, coal, natural gas, oil, etc.), and resulting in a marked increase in the average temperature of the Earth. On the other hand, the problem arises because the expensive procedures for the disposal and disposal of radioactive wastes with a long half-life period. Moreover, three serious accidents of nuclear power plants that have been taking place during the existence of nuclear power for more than sixty years, as well as a very large number of contingencies led to serious consequences for the atomic phobia of humanity. The proposed article informs the world public about the ecological aspects of nuclear energy objectively, drawing readers’ attention to both its negative and positive impact on the environment.
I am convinced that nuclear power engineering is necessary for mankind and must develop but only in conditions of almost complete safety.
