The Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI; Morey 1991) is a self-report measure of personality and psychopathology consisting of 4 Validity, 11 Clinical, 5 Treatment Consideration, and 2 Interpersonal scales, as well as conceptually derived subscales and risk indexes (Morey 2007). Scales (acronyms: number of items per scale) are as follows: Validity – Inconsistency (ICN: 10 item pairs), Infrequency (INF: 8), Negative Impression (NIM: 9), and Positive Impression (PIM: 9); Clinical – Somatic Complaints (SOM: 24), Anxiety (ANX: 24), Anxiety-Related Disorders (ARD: 24), Depression (DEP: 24), Mania (MAN: 24), Paranoia (PAR: 24), Schizophrenia (SCZ: 24), Borderline Features (BOR: 24), Antisocial Features (ANT: 24), Alcohol Problems (ALC: 12), and Drug Problems (DRG: 12); Treatment – Aggression (AGG: 18), Suicidal Ideation (SUI: 12), Stress (STR: 8), Nonsupport (NON: 8), and Treatment Rejection (RXR: 8); Interpersonal– Dominance (DOM: 12), and Warmth (WRM: 12)...
