Introduction

Jochen Schweitzer is a leading figure in the field of couple and family therapy. His contributions encompass high-impact and peer reviewed disseminations of research trials with outpatients, inpatients, staff members, and entire organizations including both quantitative and qualitative methodology. Schweitzer trains both professional psychotherapists and students, and is politically engaged for the advancement of couple and family therapy.

Career

Jochen received his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Tuebingen in 1986, which followed by a German habilitation in 1995 and subsequently an associate professorship of medical psychology and psychotherapy at the Center for Psychosocial Medicine at the University of Heidelberg. He directs the Division of Organizational Psychology in Medicine and is vice director of the Institute of Medical Psychology.
