Introduction
With the rapid development of technology in recent decades, it is a widely held view that the role of technology in the process of teaching and learning has become more and more crucial in higher education in Hong Kong. In 2001, UGC launched a review on higher education in Hong Kong and reported that technology is challenging us to acquire new skills to harness its powerful but demanding potential to enhance teaching and learning (Tung 1997). The need for staff in the sector to develop new skills to respond effectively to technological and other changes in higher education was also recommended. Therefore, the expectation of technology being adopted in higher education at all scales is very high realizing the demand in current situation as well as for future workforce (Blake 2013).
