Definition

Democracy represents a form of government that is formed by the majority and the majority safeguards the interests of the common people, including minorities. In this study, democracy means a form of government in which power is exercised by the people through their representatives by holding periodic free and fair elections, and by the parliament being accountable to the people with a view to ensuring equitable distribution of the state resources and equal opportunity for all citizens.
