Abstract
Many dicotyledonous and also several monocotyledonous plant species are susceptible to Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. This current and well-established method has been used successfully with a large number of plant species to mediate gene transfer. This chapter describes an Agrobacterium-mediated transformation method of Petunia hybrida leaf discs, one of the first species that was routinely transformed using this method.
