Abstract
Many of the most powerful methods of protein fractionation involve the use of column chromatography. Other chapters in this volume describe specific chromatographic techniques, but the focus is mainly on the particular application rather than on the generalities of how to do column chromatography in practice. This chapter is intended to fill in some of the practical gaps in terms of what materials and equipment are needed and how they should be used.
