Abstract
Potato tissue culture has been widely researched both from the perspectives of mass clonal propagation, e.g., in potato seed certification schemes, and of genetic manipulation (1,2). Potato micropropagation is central to most potato certification schemes (3), and genetic engineering has resulted in the release and sale to consumers in North America of transformed “Russet Burbank” potatoes (NatureMark Potatoes, Boise, ID).
