Abstract

Assessment of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS), including chest pain, is often a diagnostic challenge to physicians. Biochemical markers of myocardial injury have become routine in assisting clinicians in confirming the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in both patients with and without a diagnostic electrocardiogram (EKG; refs. 13).
