Abstract
As the Human Genome Project continues toward its goal of characterizing the genome of human and selected model organisms through complete mapping and sequencing of their DNA, unique opportunities are becoming available for studying genetic variation in humans and its relationship with disease risk and aging. Consequently, new techniques have been invented to rapidly screen genes for biological information.
Keywords
These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
Certain commercial equipment or materials are identified in this chapter to adequately specify experimental procedures. Such identification does not imply endorsement by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, nor does it imply that the materials or equipment identified are necessarily the best available for the purpose.
