Book cover Developmental Biology Protocols

Part of the book series: Methods in Molecular Biology™ ((MIMB,volume 137))

Abstract

Trophoblast cells are situated between maternal and embryonic compartments and effectively permit the embryo to develop within the female reproductive tract. These cells develop along a multilineage differentiation pathway and their growth and differentiation are pivotal to the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy (14).
