Abstract
Aminobenzoic acid-based congeners are emerging as a useful class of nonpeptide templates for applications in peptidomimetic drug discovery. Exemplifying such compounds are recently described antagonists or inhibitors of several receptor and signal transduction protein targets, including, integrin gpIIbIIIa receptor antagonists (1), Ras farnesyl protein transferase inhibitors (2), Src SH2 domain antagonists (3), and growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP) receptor agonists (4). Representative examples of these compounds are shown in Fig. 1.
