Chick Embryotoxicity Screening Test (CHEST I and II)

  • Protocol

Part of the book series: Methods in Molecular Biology™ ((MIMB,volume 43))

Abstract

The chick embryo has been used for the study of experimental teratogenicity by various techniques (14). This chapter describes a method developed by Jelinek (5,6) that combines a standardized technique (CHEST I) with other techniques (CHEST II); it allows the administration of small amounts of test compound and the measurement of a quantitative endpoint (CHEST I).
