Abstract

Hereditary diseases (1) are diseases that are passed on from one generation to the next. They are caused by one or more genetic defects in consequence of point mutations, small insertions and deletions, or chromosomal rearrangements, notably deletions, duplications, inversions, insertions, and translocations.
