Abstract

A room in which temperature and humidity can be controlled facilitates dissection. As noted above, humidity >50% increases the danger of changes in tissue constituents. It also seems wise to keep the temperature as cool as comfort permits (20° is suggested) to increase further the stability of sensitive components. Some tissues, specifically myelinated portions of the nervous system, become sticky and difficult to handle if the temperature rises much above 25°.
