Abstract

The physico-chemical properties of the virus in crude sap such as dilution end point, thermal inactivation point and longevity in vitro would provide useful data on the concentration of the virus in the living host and its stability that would help in the transmission and virus purification experiments. Although, these properties are not being used at present to identify and characterize a plant virus, but still they are quite useful in getting idea about concentration and storage duration of a virus in active state in crude sap for future course of study.
