We are seeking your support for a special issue in honor of Prof. Ronald Borchardt, a respected teacher, and a well-known and highly regarded medicinal and pharmaceutical chemist with research interests in both drug design and drug delivery. Prof. Borchardt's work on prodrugs has led to the development of new drugs that are more easily absorbed by the body and have fewer side effects. He has also developed new cell culture systems for studying drug transport across biological barriers, such as the intestinal mucosa and the blood-brain barrier. Prof. Borchardt has received numerous awards and honors for his teaching and research accomplishments. He was inducted into the ACS Medicinal Chemistry Division Hall of Fame in 2003 recognizing his lifetime contributions to the field of medicinal chemistry. He is the author or co-author of more than 500 scientific publications and 460 abstracts. He is also the Editor of 10 books and the Series Editor of two book series on pharmaceutical biotechnology.

We look forward to receiving your submissions!

Sincerely,

Binghe Wang, Michael Wolfe, Xiangming Guan, and Siming L. Wang
