  • Congratulations! Prof. Sanwen Huang has been elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

    On 22nd November, the results of the 2023 Academician co-option of the two academies were announced. The Editor-in-Chief of aBIOTECH, Prof. Sanwen Huang has been elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

    Professor Sanwen Huang, President of Chinese Academy of Topical Agricultural Sciences, Professor and Director General of Agricultural Genomics Institute at Shenzhen, CAAS. He works on the multidisciplinary frontier of genomics, molecular biology, and plant breeding, using potato and vegetables as research subjects. Dr. Sanwen Huang devotes himself to the development of disruptive innovations for agriculture, including genome design of hybrid potato. He has published over 100 papers in journals including Cell, Nature, and Science. He serves as member of Academic Advisory Committee of Cell. He won the National Natural Science Award of China and Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.

  • Special Issue "Genome Editing and Genotype-independent Transformation Methodologies in Crop Improvement" in 2023"

    In this special issue, we plan to publish articles covering the following topics: Timely review(s); Research articles; Brief communications; and Step-by-step protocol(s) for methodology development in genome editing, in either plant or mammalian cells; Genotype-independent transformation of crop species; Exploring the potential mechanisms underlying the differences in transformation.
