Aims and scope
The Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics was founded in 1870 as “Archiv für Gynaekologie” and has a long and outstanding tradition. Since 1922 the journal has been the Organ of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe.

to the editor that are usually followed by answers of the authors.)
- Images in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Outstanding illustrative material will be published. This
should be followed by a short description without references.)
- Abstracts
from all subspecialties in Gynecology and Obstetrics. All papers are peer-reviewed and published as quickly as possible. Case reports can be submitted, but will only be accepted if they are of broad interest to the readership and include a systematic review of the literature. Systematic reviews on rare diseases are welcome.
Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics also publishes special/guest-edited issues. The peer review process for these articles is the same as the peer review process of the journal in general. Additionally, if the guest editor(s) authors an article in their special issue, they will not handle the peer review process.
