Overview

The Journal of Archaeological Method and Theory addresses method- and/or theory-focused issues of current archaeological interest. Papers focus on:
  • theoretical issues related to major anthropological and historical phenomena, such as change and the evolution of material culture and human societies
  • methodological issues related to the analysis of archaeological data so that new and robust archaeological interpretations can be obtained
  • innovative multilevel analytical works relating individual actions, anthropological regularities and cultural historical specifics
  • actualist studies led in present-day societies and mobilizing different disciplines so as to study mechanisms explaining recurrent phenomena
  • epistemological papers questioning the founding of our scientific constructs
