Margaret Beck (Ph.D., University of Arizona) is an anthropological archaeologist with research interests in Native North America (particularly the Great Plains and U.S. Southwest), ceramics, households, ethnoarchaeology, compositional analysis, and site formation processes. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Iowa.

Valentine Roux is Director of research at the CNRS (The National Center for Scientific Research, France). She is a worldwide leader in ceramic technology. She conducts researches on the evolutionary trajectories of ceramic traditions and related social groups in the southern Levant between the 5th and 3rd millennium BC. She also works in northern India to elaborate reference models aimed at enriching the anthropological interpretations of archaeological assemblages.
