Leonnig and David Nakamura reported not only on the Secret Service scandal but also on the actions of “new Secret Service boss for the South American region,” Paula Reid. Reid, a 46-year-old African-American woman in an organization with few African-Americans and few women, is reported to have been hired “to ride herd on a rowdy group of male colleagues.” (April 21, 2012)
