7Li NMR in Some Lithium Intercalation Compounds

Taking advantage of electronic spins

Abstract

Electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries allow both the insertion-deinsertion of Li+ ions within their framework and redox reactions of an electroactive element. The latter thus undergoes changes in its oxidation state and possibly in its spin state as well as in the localised or metallic character of the electron spins it can carry.
