Abstract
Kinetic requirements of materials with fast ion transport in the solid state depend strongly on the type of application and the function of the material in galvanic cells. While several applications require only minor or moderate electrical currents, e.g. sensors, electrochromic and chemotronic systems, the development of lithium batteries is probably the most challenging task in view of the kinetic parameters, especially in combination with thermodynamic stability.
