On the Compatibility of Local Realism with Atomic Cascade Experiments

Abstract

We present two criticisms of the reported violations of local realism in atomic cascade experiments. Firstly, we show that physically reasonable local-hidden variable models can reproduce within errors the results of those experiments. Secondly, we show that photon rescattering in the beam is important for the experiments reported to violate Bell’s inequality.
