Abstract
This is a dialogue between father and son, reflecting an ongoing learning experience with an outstanding teacher, guide, advisor and most of all a friend. This is not a piece of academic work. It is not focusing on how we developed outstanding practical solutions, like the first “Early Warning System” for Hewlett-Packard in Germany, based on the system thinking logic. It is not sharing how we used academic work to find out how to avoid losing investment banking talent, or how to totally refocus and shape the Deutsche Bank HR department, contributing to help making Deutsche Bank truly a global leader. It is the attempt to explain how the learning, and much more the guiding, of an outstanding person is transferred and reflected into the relationship between a father and a son’s personal and professional development.
