Zusammenfassung

Die Prognose bei dilatierter Kardiomyopathie und schwerer Herzinsuffizienz ist extrem schlecht und steht mit dem Ausmaß der Myokardbe-teiligung in Zusammenhang, was aus Herzgröße, Ejektionsfraktion und histologischen Veränderungen geschlossen werden kann (1, 3, 6). Eine Pharmakotherapie scheint prognostisch nur von begrenztem Wert zu sein, obwohl sich bei einem Teil der Patienten, der gut auf akute Vasodilatatortherapie reagierte, die langfristige Überlebenschance verbessert haben mag.
