Abstract

Problems often emerge through broad perspectives. For understanding and investigation, tracking them by the perspectives is helpful. This chapter introduces the problem of tubewell farming versus aquifer potential through an account of its background issues. Since the problem has countrywide implications, it has been tracked from national through provincial contexts and finally short-handed at local level scenario for scientific analysis. Further, this chapter settles the research questions, objectives, and hypothesis to be pursued in the study. Besides establishing its operational scope, it has provided a niche to this research in the domain of geographic research literature – to be considered specifically as one of the agriculture and water resources management studies.
