Abstract
There are several levels of protein structure and different types of interactions that maintain such structures. Thus, the primary structure is the amino acid residue sequence in the peptide chain. The secondary structure is the intramolecular rearrangement wherein domains of high symmetry are produced in sections of the peptide chain. The tertiary structure is the intramolecular arrangement of the above domains with respect to each other. Quaternary structures are formed by the aggregation of individual peptide chains (subunits) to form ordered supramolecular structures.
