Abstract

Serious fears have been expressed about the IVF procedure. It was thought that public concern over the ethical aspects of IVF and ET may have led to restriction or prohibition of the technique. Because of this possibility, Walters and Singer (1982), gynaecologist and philosopher of Monash University, Melbourne, published a book which presents the various ethical problems and views related to IVF and ET. It was noted that the community would realize that those involved with the scientific aspects of IVF and ET technology were also seriously concerned with the ethics of IVF.
