Abstract

Myfanwy Thomas was the youngest child and second daughter of Edward and Helen Thomas (q.v.). Although she claims ‘not to be good at English,’ her autobiography, One of These Fine Days (1982) was well received and went into several editions. In the following excerpt, she recalls the day the news of her father’s death at the Front came by telegram.
