Part of the book series: Topics in Heterocyclic Chemistry ((TOPICS,volume 29))

Abstract

Metalation and metal-mediated reactions of various mesoionic heterocycles including sydnones, münchnones, and isomünchnones are reviewed through early 2012. The monograph is divided into sections by heterocycle; subdivisions cover direct metalation with lithium or magnesium, transmetalation to other metals such as copper and zinc, cross-coupling chemistry, and the metal-mediated synthesis of various mesoionic systems.
