Abstract
The coupling between collective and individual modes for a meta-equilibrium one-dimensional gravitating gas is studied. The one-dimensional water-bag model allows the calculation of the theoretical values of these modes and they are compared with those obtained by simulations realised with an N Body code. Finally the influence on the time evolution and stability of holes localised in the water-bag equilibrium is numerically investigated.
