Conclusions

The need to use water-air tanks at pumping stations should be substantiated by calculations of transients possible at these stations.

The most suitable for calculations is the method developed at MGUP, which takes into account all factors substantially affecting the occurrence of transients, including WATs and delay in closing check valves.

The use of WATs with installation on pump pressure lines of check valves with adjustable closing designed at VNIIVODGEO is becoming the most effective.
