Abstract

A pursuit of different fuel sources to decrease humanity’s dependence on fossil fuels in the engineering industry in this day and age is becoming more and more critical. Earth only has a finite amount of fossil fuel, and eventually, it dries up. The goal of this research is to explore the feasibility of using biochemistry to convert organic waste into usable fuel. The organic waste contains hydrogen and carbon-based molecules, and two methods of chemical reactions can be implemented to transform these molecules into usable, combustible fuel: pyrolysis and gasification.
