Abstract
The decision to advise imaging of the child with suspected intra-abdominal injury begins with clinical evaluation. Since imaging forms the basis of ensuing clinical management including the type of clinical care and monitoring, length of hospital stay, and restriction of activities and follow-up, it takes the center stage in the complete assessment and workup of children following abdominal trauma.
