Abstract

Critical pedagogy opens up a space where students should be able to come to terms with their own power as critical agents; it provides a sphere where the unconditional freedom to question and assert... Pedagogy also makes a space available for an argument about the responsibility of the present for a democratic future. (Giroux, 2007, p. 1) I was interested to learn that both of the participants included critical pedagogical approaches in their philosophies, as well as teaching styles and course contents.
