Abstract
Connectionism represents the study of massively parallel networks of simple neuron-like computing units [285],[115]. The computational capabilities of the systems with neural networks are in fact amazing and very promising; they include not only the so-called “ intelligent functions” such as logical reasoning, learning, pattern recognition, formation of associations or abstraction from examples, but also the ability to acquire the most skillful performance in the control of complex dynamic systems. They also evaluate a large number of sensors with different modalities, providing noisy and sometimes inconsistent information.
