Abstract

The Leiden University Library has recently been enriched by a considerable number of Javanese manuscripts received after the publication of Volume One, the Synopsis of Javanese Literature, in 1967. These additions are mainly due to the bounty of Dr Hooykaas, of London, who has made available many new copies of Javanese-Balinese manuscripts (see § 50.004-XLVII, in Volume Two), and to the kindness of the Directors of the Netherlands Mission College (“Nederlandse Zendings Hogeschool”) at Oegstgeest, who have presented the Library with a collection of papers pertaining to Javanese literature originally belonging to the late professor Kraemer (see § 50.004-XLI).
