Abstract
This paper examines the system of managing institutional radioactive waste in the central part of Russian Federation. This system, established in the beginning of 1960s on a regional basis comprises a network of regional specialised facilities (RSF) “Radon,” located near large industrial centres. Also discussed are administrative, legislative, and current operational aspects of the activities of RSF “Radon.”
