Abstract

This paper gives a general review of sea wave climate in Chinese waters and our theoretical work on wave dynamics, focusing on the energy input process and the nonlinearity in the wave developing process and wave statistics. The effects of weak- nonlinearity on various statistical distributions of wave field, and that of wave breaking on the distortion of spectrum shape and the energy loss are also addressed.
