Abstract
In this work we present experimental and numerical results relative to reflectivity spectra of micromachined one–dimensional photonic crystals (1D–PhCs), evaluated in the near infrared region at normal incidence with an improved experimental setup, based on single–mode optical fibers with lensed terminations. A Gaussian stochastic process was exploited in the numerical calculation to evaluate the effects of fabrication–induced nonidealities of the devices and limitation of the optical setup, on the reflectivity spectra.
